Team Husky Loses a
Great Friend

Aynsley Debaeremaeker
After a courageous battle with cancer our good friend Aynsley passed away in her 32nd year on Saturday Oct 18 2008 surrounded by her loving family.

Aynsley was a big part of Stanley Tools and the Kopp Motorsports team. She always kept us on our toes. One thing is for sure, if there are cars in Heaven Aynsley will be smiling, because she loved Hot Rods. We send Tony, Anthony and the rest of Aynsley's family our sincerest condolences.

In Aynsley's memory donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

We must beat this terrible disease.

Post Season Wrapup

As the season has come to an end,Team Husky is already starting to prepare for 2008. With a new chassis and engine combination we have had to overcome many challanges, but with the data collected from all of this we will be able to achieve our goal for better performance for 2008.

With the additional help of ERD, Competition transmission and chassis builder Mike Bos we should have no problem achieving our 2008 goals.

To Husky for all the support and belief in Kopp Motorsports.

To Matcom for providing us with transportation to get us to and from the races and everything in between.

To Eclipse Imaging for allowing me the freedom to pursue my dream and also all the printing that was needed for the 2007 season.

To Carl, Terry and Rob of ERD Engines for their ongoing support and putting up with me through the racing season.

To Competition Transmission I give thanks for their prompt support on their rebuilding of my transmission so quickly.

To Paul Rose for his time in painting our race cars to make them stand out in the crowd above all.

To Dallas from Insight Graphics for making the spectacular design of both the tow rig and trailer.

thumbnailWe welcome the newest addition to Kopp Motorsports....Bubbles.

We adopted her from the Canadian Hound Rescue through Georgette out of Simcoe. She is a 3 year old blood hound who fits in with the racing atmosphere very well. Next time you see her at the track she would love plenty of pats ,,, but please no ear pulling!

“We’ve just scratched the surface. There’s a lot more in this car.”

Rick KoppBURLINGTON, ONTARIO (July 23, 2007) – After some initial mechanical setbacks, drag racer Rick Kopp is ready for some serious seat time in his new Team Husky Top Dragster.

“We’re back in town,” said Kopp recently after some testing sessions with his new Mike Boss-chassised, ERD-powered alcohol burning dragster. “We’ve done enough testing to know we’ve entered a new level of racing.”

In a recent Quick 8 Shootout at Ontario’s Grand Bend drag strip, Kopp drove the 2000-horsepower car to a 6.39-second, 217.28 mph pass on the quarter-mile track. more>>

Cruise for KidsRick and Shawna Support Cruise for Kids

Hamilton, ON. (June 1, 2007) For the second year, Rick Kopp and Shawna Woudstra brought the complete Team Husky racing operation out to support Delta Secondary School's annual Cruise for Kids.

An event that was started in 2003 by auto shop teacher Tom Harber with the purpose of introducing the next generation of students to Classic Cars and Hot Rods. "It's important to show the kids that there are many areas that they can persue in the automotive field with one of them being the custom car market. As well I like to show the kids that there is more to customizing than just putting in a stereo" stated Harber. "We are very happy that Rick and Shawna took time out to help us with the event and we hope to see them back again next year"

The event is also used as a fundraiser with all proceeds going to support underprivelaged kids in the Delta School community. "We get kids that come to school hungry because there is no food at home so we feed them breakfast. We also provide funds that help the kids offset the costs of their school uniforms and school supplies" added Harber.

"We love doing events like this" stated Kopp. "It gives us a chance to promote to the kids that there are places where you can race safely in a controlled environment and keep it off the street. It's a bonus that we can help Delta raise money for the Breakfast Club and other causes".
